SCC Early Childhood Centers is closed for the week of March 16th, 2020 in response to the current COVID-19 pandemic. As of 3/14/2020, SCC is not aware of suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 among children, families, employees, volunteers, or the Skokie community at large. However, due to state-mandated K-12 school closures, and pre-existing and new health issues and concerns for children, families, and employees, SCC felt it was prudent to temporarily suspend child care operations. This proactive step is widely recommended as a means to slow the rate of community transmission and potentially reduce the total number of infected persons in the community, as well as to prevent health and supervision concerns that may arise from inadequate staffing during the current pandemic. At this time, we do not have enough information to determine a scheduled reopening date, nor a plan for any potential extension of the closure. However, we want to stress it is our intention to reopen as soon as practicable. We will be reaching out to all clients and staff near the end of the week with information about plans for the following week.

Read To Me
We’re so pleased to be piloting and partnering with Skokie Public Library and the community to bring one-on-one, language-rich, literature-based interactions to the littles of Skokie. Currently the Skokie Public Library is planning to work with other community Early Learning Providers to bring Read To Me to as many children as possible. SCC is so grateful to all the Library staff, administration and volunteers to bring such an amazing learning experience to our little children.
"Read To Me is a pride and joy for our library, the staff, and our volunteers!" - Holly Jin
Our Executive Director was published!
Susie Parker, founder of Sleep Baby Love and a Certified Infant and Child Sleep Consultant through the Family Sleep Institute, reached out to Joanna, Executive Director at SCC, for some of her most important tips on sleep routine. As a professional and mother of 4 children, Joanna was able to provide valuble insight on consistency and expectation of sleep patterns for young children.

Private Park and Garden
Parents have spoken and we have listened. SCC Early Childhood Centers is thrilled to announce the completion of our new park! This space allows for infant through toddler gated play, preschool, Kindergarten and School Aged equipment, vegetable gardens and tons of outdoor space to run around and explore. We have huge shade sails that allow for a picnic area and future event space. At SCC, we strive to bring your children excellence and New Leaf is another example. We hope it brings your little ones years of fun!
Fight the flu
We have teamed with Kids First Pediatrics Partners to bring you and your children the FLU vaccine. Nurses from the practice will administer the vaccines at your child's school. If you have yet to get vaccinated this year, please take advantage of this opportunity and help us FIGHT THE FLU. Vaccines are available for children, siblings, parents and employees.
SCC listed as an Amenity for Illinois Science and Technology Park employees
SCC is honored to be part of the IS+TP list of area amenities. We are just a stone's throw away from the IS+TP campus and glad to be the child care provider to many employees on the campus.
