Head Start & Early Head Start
What Is Head Start and Early Head Start?
Head Start and Early Head Start are free programs that help young children from low-income families get ready for school. These programs also support parents and families in many helpful ways.
Early Head Start is for babies, toddlers (0–3 years old), and pregnant women.
Head Start is for children ages 3 to 5 years old, before they start kindergarten.
How Do These Programs Help Families?
1. Free Learning & Childcare
Children attend a safe, caring center or family home where they learn through play.
They build early skills in talking, reading, and getting along with others.
Meals and snacks are included!

Parents receive help finding jobs, going back to school, or learning parenting tips.
You’ll work together with teachers to support your child’s development.
3. Health Services
